Our Story
Since 1982, InterIsland has been meeting and exceeding expectations in the condominium and PUD financing market. After serving as Captain in the United States Marine Corps, our president and founder, Rusty McInerney, went on to work as Vice President, Underwriting Manager from MGIC’s Southeast Division and Vice President with Chase Manhattan Bank’s mortgage subsidiary. Eventually he decided he wasn’t meant for the fixed corporate structure. A good friend, John Quick, had asked Rusty to join him at Cameron-Brown, a highly regarded mortgage company, to review condominium and PUD projects. This paired well with years of condo construction and permanent financing experience. It wasn’t long before his solid relationships and word of mouth marketing resulted in InterIsland working with almost all major lenders and builders across the United States. Today, we continue our national reach and excellent customer service.
Our vision
This success was earned by providing our clients timely, professional and accurate reviews of existing projects for compliance with agency requirements or the actual submission of the project to the relevant entity. We continue to provide 48 hour service and 24 hour response time. We review projects with a production point of view, realizing that no one gets paid unless loans are closed. We have a variety of ways to work with our customers – extended condo department, per-case basis and combinations of these and more. We will work to meet the clients requirements while maintaining the standards of the secondary market for condos and PUDs.
